About Vitanza

Vitanza was founded in 1930 as a shop dedicated to the restoration of fine wood furniture using hand-crafted, traditional methods. In 1988 we expanded our services to include re-upholstery and Vitanza’s own line of original and custom-built furniture.
Through the years we have gained a reputation as the premier experts in the restoration of 20th Century Modern design, specializing in Art Deco and Fifties furniture. In 1999, to accommodate more business, we moved from Manhattan to a larger workshop in the Bronx.
About Principals

Michael Maytal has been the president of Vitanza since 1985. Moe Klein, a master-restorer with over 49 years of experience in restoration continues to contribute to VITANZA's expertise. Michael is a serious art collector with diverse tastes from Monticelli to seminal Hungarian artists to American masters such as Knox Martin. He is able to work closely with clients, designers, architects and showrooms
on both large and small projects where he brings the sensitivity and aesthetic of his fine arts expertise.
Trademarks of Vitanza

Michael, our president, visits clients’ premises, providing personal estimates and consultations. Each piece is treated individually by dedicated craftsmen and is restored by hand with the utmost attention to detail. Finally, we involve our clients in the process and invite them to our workshop to view and discuss important stages of the restoration.
